The Female Athlete
High intensity has been popular for decades. However people like Jane Fonda, Les Mills, bootcamps, Obstacle Course Racing and CrossFit have made high intensity exercise popular for females. The USA Weightlifting Federation has seen a significant increase in membership largely in part to CrossFit’s use of Olympic Weightlifting in its exercise programming. With such high level physical challenges come concerns about how to manage common women’s health problems such as Incontinence, Pelvic Organ Prolapse (associated more with pelvic floor weakness) and Pelvic Pain (particularly from pelvic floor overactivity) as well as concerns about exercising during pregnancy, and postpartum issues such as divarication of rectus abdominis, exercising after a Caesarian section, and lifting while breastfeeding.
This course will attempt to address these concerns about high intensity exercise in women, teach participants some of the common loaded movements, how to modify these exercises for different populations, and how to assess, treat and rehabilitate common lower half injuries.
The "Bulletproof" Your Body Series (including the "The Wish List" seminars)
This series of courses examines the basic movements of the body regions and teaches you how to improve your mobility, flexibility, stability and strength in those regions using movement as the main technique with some releases and stretches as an adjunct. The courses can range from 2hrs to 16hrs per body region. The most popular course is the 4hr whole body course which looks at the "core", squat, pull-up, strict press series and the deadlift as the basis for building on exercises for CrossFit such as wallballs, cleans, snatches, as well as gymnastic-style exercises.
The 8hr Whole Body Course looks more deeply into the Foot/Ankle, Knees, Hips, Back, Ribs, Shoulders via Squats, Deadlifts, Strict Press, Pullups, and how to apply those principles to many other CrossFit movements.
Whilst the courses are named the same, rarely are 2 courses run the same way as the content evolves continuously AND the course participants shape the course as it goes along.

The "Bulletproof" Your Core and Pelvic Floor Course
This course aims to educate women and men about the Pelvic Floor. It for ANYONE who exercises. If you are a coach or a health professional, the information you will learn on this course will be repaid to you over and over again. If you are someone who exercises, the information you will learn can save your hundreds and thousands of dollars in healthcare.
The course format is usually theory about the pelvic floor for the first 2hrs. The second 3hrs are learning how to contract your “core”, how to spread the load around your trunk and then how to integrate it into exercises, movement and lifting.
This course is run to provide access to quality information about the pelvic floor – it is an essential part of any person’s training. It is powered by donations so please donate what you can – the course is usually sold for $210 which is the recommended level of donation but any amount will be acceptable. Thank you.
The "Next Level" Series
This series of courses are for the more advanced athlete. Topics will include handstand push-ups/walking, muscle up progressions, pistols (one-legged squats) and other higher level exercises. It is recommended (but not required) that you attend a "Bulletproof" Your Body course beforehand.
These courses are tailored to suit the host's requirements so please click on the seminar link to see what the topics will be about...these courses are also run by request so please contact Antony to organise a course at your gym.
The "Coach the Coaches" Series
This series of seminars are designed to focus on the art of exercise instruction and the use of cues. From the simple lifts (Squat, deadlift, Press) to the dynamic movements like the Clean and Jerk and Snatch, Antony will teach the course participants how to analyse movement systematically to make educated guesses on how to improve their clients' movement. The course will have a different focus depending on the location of the course so please ensure the focus (CrossFit/Gym/Pilates/Yoga) will be suitable for you.
These courses are run infrequently. If you would like a course at your gym, please contact Antony
The "Professionals" Series
Health professionals need to know and understand the research about current assessment and treatment techniques...BUT, they must also learn the "art" of therapy. Antony will focus on teaching how to systematically assessment movement as well as the articular, myofascial, and neural systems. Movement principles/techniques as well as psychosocial issues will also be addressed. These courses will have a particular focus towards CrossFit, Boot-Camp, Pilates/Yoga or gym-based exercises so please find a course below and click on the information to find out what the focus will be.
These courses are run infrequently. If you would like a course at your gym, please contact Antony
A mentoring program is being developed for health professionals and coaches. This will be primarily self-directed learning with group meetings according to your subscription level.
